Rev. Tom Reid (he/him) has been serving as pastor of Newton Presbyterian Church since July of 2021. He was ordained as a minister of Word & Sacrament within the Presbyterian Church (USA) in January 2021. Tom also continues to serve as the associate director of the Miller Center for Interreligious Learning and Leadership of Hebrew College in Newton Centre, MA. Central to his ministry is a commitment to interreligious engagement, social justice, and anti-racism efforts. Tom is an active writer and educator working with students, professionals, and community members to build authentic relationships across difference and to develop the skills and resources necessary to engage respectfully and lovingly in our pluralistic country and world.

Before changing careers to ordained ministry, Tom spent over ten years working in a variety of fields including: clean energy in Boston, environmental and green building consulting in Boston and Dubai, and business education in Madrid, Spain.

Originally from Kansas, Tom holds a BA with honors from the University of Kansas in Environmental Studies, Latin American Studies, and Spanish, an MA in Contemporary European Politics, Policy, and Society funded by a Fulbright grant to the European Union, and an MDiv from Boston University School of Theology with a certificate in Religion and Conflict Transformation.
